August 22 – Conscience
Absence of guilty one does not mean you are doing right.
The absence of guilt is not always a barometer of whether you are doing right. Because we can deny reality. We cannot measure our obedience to our Lover and Trust of God by our feelings. Instead we must compare what we do with God’s “Shared Love” standards for living and loving in our life.
Follow it when your Mentor and Guide Jesus Christ is silent.
We try to steer clear of actions forbidden through the writings of our Mentor and guide, Jesus Christ, of course, but sometimes there is nothing on the topic. Then we should follow our conscience. When our Lover God shows us that something is wrong for us, we should avoid it. But we should not look down on other Lovers of God who exercise their freedom in those areas.
How you can keep yours clear.
How can you hold on to a good conscience? Treasure your “Shared Love” more than anything else and trust that His control of your life is right. Each time you are involved with self-control you are denying that love. Over a period of time your capacity to trust your lover will decline. Be sure to act on those inner tugs of self-control so you do what will please your Lover – then your conscience will remain healthy.
